JIM SOUBY NAMED PRESIDENT AND CEO OF OQUIRRH INSTITUTE



Jim Souby, well regarded for his long commitment to public policy and for promoting collaboration between the public and private sectors, became President and CEO of the Oquirrh Institute, effective November 15, 2003.

Most recently, Souby served as Executive Director of the Western Governors Association, a group that develops policy and carries out programs in the areas of natural resources, environment, human services, economic development, international relations and state governance.

Prior to his 13 years at WGA, Souby was Executive Director of the Council of State Policy and Planning Agencies, a respected think tank that brought together public and private resources to address complex policy problems. He has also served as the Governor of Alaska’s Director of Policy Development and Planning and has assisted the governments of Hungary and Poland in organizing national and regional democratic governments.

Souby’s experience, leadership, and nationwide reputation make him ideally suited to promoting the mission and programs of the Oquirrh Institute, and we welcome him wholeheartedly.
